ISTQB® CT Foundation Level - Agile Tester

This training course is especially recommended for testers who have just begun, or soon expect, to work on an Agile project. It goes beyond the mechanics of testing to cover the most important single success factor for an Agile team: the various ways in which all members of the team should collaborate to deliver high quality at speed, and the special contribution that testers can make to that. It is also recommended for testers who have an Agile background and wish to demonstrate their proficiency by obtaining ISTQB® certification.

Course description

The ISTQB® courses on this page are offered by Tesena s.r.o., accredited training provider. Certification tests are provided by the Czech and Slovak Testing Board, z.s.

Required knowledge

In order to take the Agile Tester certification exam, it is necessary to already have the Foundation level core certificate. There is, however, no pre-requisite for attending the training course.

Target audience

Testers, of course, whatever their job title, from the most junior up to management level. Others can also benefit, including anybody who wants to understand what they can expect from testers on an Agile project: developers and their managers, business analysts, product owners, Scrum masters, project managers, quality managers and IT consultants.

Course content

Chapter 1: Agile Software Development
  • the principles on which it is based the characteristics of the main Agile approaches.
Chapter 2: Fundamental Agile Testing Principles, Practices And Processes
  • the differences between testing in traditional and Agile approaches
  • how to measure the status of testing in Agile projects
  • the role and skills needed of a tester in an Agile team.
Chapter 3: Agile Testing Methods, Techniques and Tools
  • the methods that are appropriate for Agile testing
  • how to assess quality risks and estimate test effort
  • test techniques that are useful in Agile projects
  • tool support for Agile testing.

Certification

The certification exam is not part of the course. It is possible to order it.

There are no prerequisites for participating in the course without taking the exam. However, if you want to take an ISTQB® Agile Tester Foundation Extension certificate, you must already hold the ISTQB® or BCS Foundation Level certificate.
  • Duration: 60 min
  • Minimum success rate: 65%
  • 40 multi-choice questions 
Exam types
  • Open exams (on-site) – Regular exam dates open for public, so anyone can apply. These exams are done in several regular locations like Prague, Brno, Bratislava, and Košice. 
  • Online exams – Online exams from the comfort of your home. 
  • Private exams – Private exams are provided with a minimum of 6 candidates

  • Adapt existing testing experience and knowledge to agile values ​​and principles.

  • Assist business partners in defining clear and testable user scenarios, requirements and criteria.
  • Work effectively and share information with other team members

  • Assess product quality risks within an agile project.
  • Estimate testing efforts based on iterative content and quality risks.
