1. The IT industry is growing and stable

Although the IT industry was limited in 2020 by budget cuts, limited spending and delays in major projects, 2021 appears to be a promising year. CompTIA Industry Outlook 2021 states that if current financial trends in IT remain on track, the industry will soon return to the growth rate it experienced before the pandemic.

Despite the global health crisis, a large number of IT professionals were hired at the end of 2020. IT companies in the United States increased employment by 22,200 employees in December, and according to CompTIA, IT jobs increased by 391,000 positions (Source: Tech Jobs report published January 8, 2021).

2. The demand for cybersecurity experts is strong

COVID-19 has taught us a lot about cyber security, including how well cybercriminals are aware of the impact COVID-19 has had and continues to have on the business world. Businesses can focus on productivity, not cyber security, in an effort to stay afloat.

A large number of employees now also work remotely, which has raised additional data security concerns. This has become a problem for some companies and a great opportunity for technical specialists who have the necessary skills to prevent and mitigate cyber attacks. According to Forbes, cyber security experts can increase their salary by more than $ 15,000.

3. Companies need help adapting to the rapid digital transformation

COVID-19 accelerated the digital transformation:

  • Teleworking. Companies had to allow their employees to work from home and quickly adopt new technologies that make the home office easier.
  • Infrastructure changes, such as network upgrades, to integrate new technological tools into existing systems. In the future, companies will need to continue to make rapid infrastructure changes, which is an opportunity for IT professionals with specialized knowledge in infrastructure design and maintenance.

You don't necessarily need a diploma to get your first IT job, you need a basic IT certification that proves you have the skills that employers are looking for.

Start with CompTIA courses and certifications, which you will find in our offer and which are widely sought after and recognized by employers.
