How to Get Certified as a FortiGate Administrator
Being an IT Security Specialist is highly valued today. Earning a Fortinet certification guarantees employability. Let’s take a closer look at the basic certification level FortiGate Administrator.
Fortinet has introduced a new certification program for IT professionals. The FortiGate Administrator exam, equivalent to the previous NSE4 designation from 2023, is a key step toward further specializations in Fortinet technologies, such as Network Security, Security Operations, and Public Cloud Security. You can learn more about these specializations in the article on Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) certifications.
The exam is conducted at Pearson VUE testing centers. Upon successfully passing the exam, you will also receive a digital badge (see image).
Preparation for the Certification Exam
The certified FortiGate Administrator course prepares you to pass the FCP FortiGate 7.4 Administrator exam. The course lasts 4 days and is divided into 12 hours of theory and 12 hours of hands-on lab exercises. The study materials are provided by the Fortinet, available in English and in electronic format.
From our computer lab, you will remotely connect to Fortinet's labs. Thanks to the small class size (maximum of 8 participants), the course is interactive. The instructor can respond to questions and provide individual assistance if you encounter difficulties with the labs.
The lecturer, Pavel Mixán, is a Fortinet Certified Trainer. Pavel works on projects involving FortiGate implementations and has extensive practical experience. As a result, the course is enriched with real-life stories and examples that help you better understand how FortiGate works in practice and how to avoid common issues.
