Overview of Microsoft Azure certifications

We took a closer look at Microsoft Azure certifications, also known as AZ. Microsoft's certification map is extensive and at first glance it may not be easy to understand it. That's why we're here to help you with that.

In order to obtain certification, the condition is to successfully pass the appropriate exam for the given certificate. Preparation for the exam can take place either in the form of self-study, or you will participate preparatory course.

What certifications does MS Azure offer?

AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals

The certification confirms that you know the basics of Azure services - from cloud concepts, security, pricing to support.

Intended for: Beginners and anyone new to Azure or cloud computing, including business people, non-technical colleagues, or students.

AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate

The certification focuses on Azure administration. It includes Azure management, identity, virtual networks, storage and monitoring. It is ideal for those in charge of implementing, managing and monitoring Azure solutions.

Intended for: SysAdmins, Cloud Admins, Azure Admins and other IT professionals.

AZ-120: Azure for SAP Workloads Specialty

To be certified, you must master Azure for SAP workload planning and management, including SAP HANA deployment, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Intended for: Architects, administrators and IT SAP professionals who need to plan, deploy and manage SAP workloads in Azure.

AZ-700: Azure Network Engineer Associate

To obtain the certificate, you must be able to design and implement Azure network solutions with a focus on virtual networks, VPN, Gateway, Azure Firewall and ExpressRoute.

Intended for: Network engineers, architects, and IT professionals who need to manage Azure networking solutions.

AZ-305: Azure Solution Architect Expert

The certification confirms that you have mastered the art of Azure solution architecture. It includes advanced topics to help you design and implement the best solution.

Intended for: Experienced Azure architects.

AZ-140: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty

The certification covers setting up, managing and optimizing Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) in Azure.

Intended for: IT professionals working with virtual desktop environments in Azure.

Certification Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

Requires 2 exams:

AZ-800: Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure. It is intended for Windows Server Hybrid Administrators who have experience working with Windows servers and want to expand the possibilities of their on-premise environments by combining On-premise and hybrid technologies.

AZ-801: Configuring Widows Server Hybrid Advanced Services. It is mainly for IT specialists who want to master their skills in the configuration and workload management of on-premise windows server, hybrid and IaaS platforms.
