The two most popular AI image generation platforms. We gave both platforms the same prompt and compared the outputs. What are the most important differences?
DALL-E better understands the given prompt thanks to deep learning. Midjourney excels in realistic images. Counting and writing is the weak point of both platforms. Yet.
You will get better results if you enter the prompt in English
1) Prompt: Create picture: Slide background for artificial intelligence neural networks. Image perceptrons in input layer hidden layers and output layer black background and illuminating neural network.
Thanks to deep learning, DALL-E understood that the output should be a slide for the presentation. It created an image with the appropriate size. In Midjourney, the size of the image must be specified.
2) Prompt: Create picture 16:9 of a god on the cloud giving divine powers -- ar 16:9
DALL-E first created an image of a god. Then it completed the size corresponding to the specification in the form of gray stripes.
For creating realistic images and photos, it is better to use Midjourney. DALL-E outputs are more cartoonish.
3) Prompt: Generate photo 16:9 of artificial intelligence sitting in the security room and watching multiple screens with CCTV. Functioning as security officer guarding shopping mall camera feeds. On the screens there are to be pictures from the shopping mall. Room small and dark.
DALL-E played with the details and the screens show footage from the mall. Midjourney can't do this yet. On the other hand, the picture is again very realistic.
Both artificial intelligences are still learning to write and count.
4) Prompt: Photorealistic photo from drone above 4 ways intersection in desert with 4 cars coming from each road and waiting to give right pass.
Midjourney did a better job with this assignment. One of the proposals corresponds to the prompt. Although there are four roads in the remaining pictures, either the numbers of cars or their distribution do not match.
Choosing between DALL-E and Midjourney depends on the specific needs and goals of your project. However, both platforms are worth a try.
